Since opening in 2000, it has attracted 350,000 to 400,000 visitors annually, eager to see thousands of tropical fish, reptiles, birds, and other animals.
The complex welcomes visitors year-round, opening from 10:00 to 20:00 daily. The ticket office closes at 19:00. Note that hours change on December 24, 25, 26, 31, and January 1.
Expect longer lines on weekends or holidays. We recommend visiting Tropicarium during the week and outside the main summer season.

Currently, an adult ticket costs approximately 11.50 euros. Children and students aged 4 to 18 pay 9 euros, as do senior citizens over 65. Children under 4 years enter for free. Groups or families can benefit from a discounted group ticket.
To avoid waiting, purchase a FAST PASS ticket on the official Tropicarium Budapest website, allowing quick entry. An adult Fast Pass costs up to 13 euros, while children, students, and seniors pay approximately 10 euros. The online ticket is valid for 6 months from purchase.
Driving to Tropicarium is easy. Highways M0, M1, M7 lead you nearby, then turn onto main road 6 and Nagytétényi utca. Located in the shopping center, parking is convenient with free parking for 1,800 cars and buses.

The complex features several aquariums. Start with freshwater creatures, then explore the tropical rainforest. The highlight is the huge shark aquarium. Finish with marine aquariums featuring jellyfish, crabs, and morays. Don't miss the ray pool, where you can pet them.
The main draw is the marine shark aquarium. Walk through an 11-meter-long underwater tunnel as massive sharks and rays swim around you. You'll feel like part of the ocean. Behind the glass, admire two-meter-long tiger and brown sharks from Florida, among the world's 10 most dangerous species. No need to worry; the aquarium walls are made of shatterproof 16 cm thick glass. This experience captivates both children and adults.
The tropical rainforest is another standout. With lush vegetation, a tropical climate, exotic birds, roaming monkeys, alligators, snakes, lizards, and spiders, you'll feel transported. Every quarter hour, experience a storm with darkness, rain, lightning, and thunder.
The marine pool offers a thrilling experience with rays. Besides watching them, you can pet or feed them. They will rub against your hand, and don't worry—they're harmless.
Tropicarium Budapest showcases animals and plants from both freshwater and saltwater environments worldwide. Freshwater creatures hail from Africa, Asia, and South America. Marine aquariums feature life from the Indian Ocean, the Caribbean, and the Red Sea. The colorful fish swimming around corals offer a live experience akin to coral reefs.

Aside from other attractions, enjoy animal feeding sessions daily. Monkeys are fed between 11:30-12:00 and 15:30-16:00. Other feedings occur as follows:
Monday: 14:00 snake and 14:30 alligator (every third Monday of the month)
Tuesday: 14:00 dwarf caiman
Wednesday: 14:00 monitor lizard
Thursday: 14:30 shark
Friday: 15:30 monkeys
