We spent two days exploring Milan, delving into everything from cafes to landmarks through hidden alleys. Here's a one-day itinerary to help you plan your trip. All the places mentioned can be visited in a single day. We took our time, enjoying the city's atmosphere and cafes, so we split it into two days. But it's easily doable in one. What should you see?
>>> Discover Tenerife, the island of eternal spring shaped by volcanic activity. Experience black beaches, steep mountains, and rainforests.
This Gothic cathedral, the fourth largest church in the world, stands at the heart of Piazza del Duomo. Each metro exit offers a breathtaking view of the cathedral, making it one of Milan's most famous landmarks.
Dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, the cathedral's construction spanned nearly six centuries. It began in 1386 and was completed in 1965, though some parts still need renovation. For visiting details, check here.
This is one of the most beautiful shopping centers we've seen and also one of the largest!
Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, one of the oldest shopping centers, was designed and built in the late 19th century and is a significant Italian landmark.
Known as il salotto di Milano – the drawing room of Milan – it's a hub for meetings in its restaurants, making it a key spot in Milan.
Inside, you'll find luxury brands like Prada, Versace, and Gucci, alongside cafes, bars, and hotels. The architecture, both inside and out, is elaborate. It's hard to find a shopping center as elegant and luxurious as Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. Fashion and shopping enthusiasts will love it.

Navigli is a network of canals in Milan. Here, three canals meet, and we recommend a romantic walk or coffee.
Even in the early morning, the scenery was romantic. For an even better atmosphere, visit in the evening when illuminated balconies create a romantic setting. Couples should visit Navigli to declare their love in this part of the city.
Another must-visit spot! Historically, this square served as a city gate for Milan – Porta Sempione.
The triumphal arch Arco della Pace marks where the gate once stood. It's a historical urban area in Milan, with bars, restaurants, and nightclubs.
Built in the 15th century, the castle originally defended the city. In 1905, it was extensively reconstructed and now houses several museums and art collections.
Notable exhibitions include the manuscript of Leonardo da Vinci – Codex Trivulzianus and a marble statue by Michelangelo. A beautiful fountain in front attracts tourists.
Ciao coffee lovers. The quaint interior, friendly service, and perfect espresso and cappuccino will make you want to return.
We loved Hygge cafe, from the decor to the tempting cakes. Initially, we sat by the window, tired from walking, then moved to a table by a wall with a painted world map.
I adored the cafe – it's exactly the type we seek out on our travels. We could have stayed all day; a waitress even offered us a free cake, which was lovely. Prices are also very reasonable.

The city offers a mix of luxurious, expensive, and budget accommodations. For something affordable and nice, consider apartments or hostels.
For luxury, a 4 or 5-star hotel is ideal. If you're deciding, check prices here. With our itinerary, you'll enjoy a fantastic day in Milan.
Milan is sure to impress. Start your day at the iconic Duomo Cathedral, then head to the nearby Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II for coffee in a historic cafe. In the afternoon, visit the Navigli district, known for its canals and lively atmosphere, and savor Italian cuisine at a local restaurant.
