Which packages include cancellation insurance?
Cancellation and trip interruption insurance is included in the COMFORT and EXTRA packages.
The BASIC, PLUS and STUDENT packages do not include cancellation cover.
What does cancellation insurance cover?
It covers costs incurred if you have to cancel your trip for serious and unforeseen reasons, such as a serious illness, injury, hospitalisation or the death of a close relative.
Does cancellation insurance cover the full price of the trip?
Yes. If the price of the trip exceeds the standard cancellation limit, the cancellation sum insured is automatically increased to the total price of the trip. For example, for a trip costing €2,000, cancellation cover is set at up to €2,000.
How much will the insurer reimburse if I cancel?
The insurer will reimburse the actual cancellation fee you incur, up to the agreed sum insured.
Is there a deductible for cancellation claims?
With the EXTRA package, the deductible is 0% in the event of the death of the insured person or a family member, hospitalisation of the insured person at the time the trip begins, or a fracture of an upper or lower limb. In all other cases, the deductible is 15%.
The deductible for the COMFORT package is 15%.
When does cancellation insurance take effect?
If you take out the insurance on the day you book the trip or within 24 hours, cancellation cover begins on the following day. If you take it out later, cover begins on the 15th day after the insurance is arranged.
What should I do if I have to cancel my trip?
Cancel the trip without delay, no later than the next business day after learning of the reason for cancellation. Then report the insured event to the insurer using the telephone number shown on your insurance card.
Are there age restrictions for the insurance?
The PLUS and EXTRA packages have no age restriction.
The BASIC and COMFORT packages are intended for people under 70 years of age.
The STUDENT package is intended for people aged 16 to 26.
Can I cancel the insurance after paying for it?
For insurance without cancellation cover, you may withdraw no later than one day before the insurance begins; the insurer will refund the premium less €4. This applies to the BASIC, PLUS and STUDENT packages.
If the insurance includes cancellation cover, withdrawal with an automatic entitlement to a premium refund is not possible. This applies to the COMFORT and EXTRA packages.
